This facility is available for registered PhD students who require a dedicated workspace for research activities.

The University of Malaya Research Ethics Committee (UMREC) undertakes ethics review of all non-medical research involving human participants including funded and unfunded research. The UMREC examines methodology, risks/benefits, consent, confidentiality, and data handling. Data collection is prohibited before clearance.

UMREC is now using a new online system for ethics review submissions. Please submit your UMREC application via https://flexa.um.edu.my/umrec AND please insert tdp_fpe@um.edu.my for the Level 2 Approval in Part G. Separate forms are provided for students and staff -- hence, please make sure you select & complete the form for your category. The required attachments to be uploaded to the FLEXA application can be downloaded from the Download section on the right tab of the UMREC website at https://umresearch.um.edu.my/research-ethics/.

GPKIT assists doctoral students in conducting research within the Graduate On Time (GOT) period.

Complete all required documents and submit via email to Ms. Fitri Soraya Azmi (fitrisorayaazmi95@um.edu.my) with a copy to tdp_fpe@um.edu.my.
