Special Publication Fund (SPF)

What is the Special Publication Fund (SPF)?

FPE Academic Staff is entitled to claim a maximum of RM3,000 per year once the publication has been ACCEPTED.

What documents are required?

Proof of Acceptance of publication
Proof of payment (Receipts & Bank Transaction Statement)
First page of the article
Completed application form with all attachments

What can be claimed?

Submission / Publication Fee
Proofreading
Page Charge

Additional notes

The fund is on a claim basis.
Once approved, applicant must key in the application in e-Procurement > Non-PO Invoice.

What are Faculty Special Grants?

Faculty Special Grants are internal funding schemes provided by the Faculty of Business and Economics to support research, publication, postgraduate supervision, instructional materials, and faculty advancement activities.

Is HOD verification required?

Yes. All applications must be verified by the respective Head of Department before submission to the Research Office.

How to Apply for UMREC

UMREC is now using a new online system for ethics review submissions. Please submit your UMREC application via https://flexa.um.edu.my/umrec AND please insert tdp_fpe@um.edu.my for the Level 2 Approval in Part G. Separate forms are provided for students and staff -- hence, please make sure you select & complete the form for your category. The required attachments to be uploaded to the FLEXA application can be downloaded from the Download section on the right tab of the UMREC website at https://umresearch.um.edu.my/research-ethics/.

Special Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Filing Fund

What is the IPR Filing Fund?

This fund covers copyright filing fees (typically RM200). Apply to Ms. Fitri Soraya Azmi & Mrs. Mazlita Ahmad. Approved applications can be claimed via F1RST. Fund is first-come-first-served and prioritized for staff who have not received it before.
